Three years ago I decided to take the plunge and get permanent eye liner. At the time I was a 26 year old high school teacher, who often was mistaken for a student. I barely ever wore make-up because of a million different reasons...the time it took to put it on, that I was an active person and it rubbed off, I wore contacts….even though I knew I looked better (more my age) with it on. Finally I did it and it was so worth it, I have never been so happy with my appearance. I am constantly getting compliments on my eyes, I no longer have eye irritation from makeup in my contacts and I can wake up and look great! I even still put different colors over it if I want a different look for a night out. I would recommend having Laurie Johnson do permanent makeup to anyone I talk to, in a heartbeat! I wish I would have done it sooner!

The first permanent make-up I had was eye liner. The reason being that I have allergies that at times make my eyes water. I could not use eye-liner because my eyes would water and cause the liner to run down my face, and I would get those dreaded black deposits in the corner of my eyes.

I love my permanent liner. It always looks good, doesn’t run anywhere and I only get a touch up once a year.

After that, I became a “Laurie Groupie”

I have permanent… eyebrows, lips, eye shadow and liner. The only make-up I apply everyday is under eye concealer, mascara and blush.

Also, Laurie has done dry needling to help with my “wrinkles”. She scratches my skin in the creases and collagen rises to the surface and fills in the wrinkles. It Is A Miracle!!!!!

I totally endorse the work Laurie does. It has certainly made my life easier, and I get up in the morning looking better than I should.

Through time the procedures for getting ready have gotten easier and easier. It is now almost painless and even if it wasn’t, it is SO WORTH IT.

I have been coming to essentials for the last 3 years. I have diabetes and my doctor suggested getting a pedicure once a month. My hair stylist suggested coming to Essentials. Being a woman in my 60’s I decided to look into permanent makeup. My eyes weren’t exactly as sharp as they had been a few years before then. I had trouble putting on my eyeliner and eyebrows, without a great deal of frustration! When I learned I could have them put on permanently, with very little maintenance involved, I decided to look into it.

I had heard of Laurie Johnson and the wonderful work she does, and decided to contact her and see if she could help me “at my age”. I soon learned that permanent makeup is good “for any age”. I am a 93 year old woman who has lived with Alopecia for most of my life, thus, without any facial hair. I learned from my daughter about “permanent makeup”. About 8 years ago she introduced me to Laurie Johnson, a permanent makeup specialist. Laurie said she could put eyebrows on me and thought I would really be satisfied with the results.

I made an appointment and Laurie gave me the eyebrows I had always dreamed of. She is a very professional artist and made me feel not only comfortable, but very special with my “new look”. I am a busy college student with early classes and a hectic schedule and I don’t always have time to do my makeup. It was suggested to me to look into getting permanent makeup done. In the past, I have had trouble with acrylic nails popping off. Ever since I have been getting my nails done at Essentials, I have not had one single nail pop off. The technicians at Essentials use a gel based product cured with blue light. This product is awesome! It holds so strong. I also love the vast color choices. They range from “all business” to “party time”. I love my nails!

It is such a freedom. Especially when I travel. I had to spend 15-20 Minutes every morning. If I was facing the sun, I worried that the hair was even more noticeable. Especially around men. As a female, I felt embarrassed. I am not sure how much it was noticed, but it was in my mind constantly.

I was invited to go up north with my daughter, but I didn’t want to go because when you’re camping there is no place to go, no privacy, and no good light.

I just don’t think about it anymore. It’s such a freedom. My only regret is that I didn’t do this years ago.
